 29th August,  2024 Governor Inuwa Yahaya Mourns His Former Adviser, Godfrey Birba Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of his former Special Adviser on Drugs and Narcotics, Mr. Godfrey Birba.  The late Godfrey Birba passed away today, Thursday after a protracted illness at the Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe. In his message of sympathy, Governor Inuwa Yahaya described the late Godfrey Birba as a humble, dedicated, and courageous gentleman who served the state and the nation meritoriously.  He said the death of the former Adviser is a huge loss not only to his immediate family but to the entire state, given his valuable counsel and service to Gombe State and the nation.   "The demise of Godfrey Birba is a painful loss to all of us," the Governor remarked.  Thursday, Aug, 2024 ASUU, GOMBE GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS MEETING IN PICTURES  National delegation from Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and officials from the Gombe State University Branch of the Union meets Gombe SSG over plan industrial strike. The SSG Prof Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi led the Government team which comprise of the Commissioner of Science Technology and Innovation Abdullahi Bappa Garkuwa, Principal Private Secretary PPS/ Permanent Secretary Prof Mua'zu Shehu, the Permanent Secretary SS& Pol Salihu Sambo and SSA Research and Documentation Government House Dr Adamu Ahmad. The ASUU NEC delegation was led by Prof Daniel Gongula with the Chairperson of GSU ASUU Chapter and his Executive members in attendance.  28th August,  2024 Gombe Governor Issues Executive Order, Revokes Rights of Occupancy Over BAP 4 Layout Lands Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has issued an Executive Order No. 007 of 2024, effectively revoking the rights of occupancy over lands situated in the BAP 4 Layout.  The decision, follows an extensive audit and verification exercise conducted by the Gombe State Project Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation (PIME) Committee, which revealed significant irregularities and breaches of the terms and conditions associated with the land grants. In the Executive Order, Governor Inuwa Yahaya emphasized that the grantees of the right of occupancy had failed to adhere to the clear terms and conditions set forth in the grants. As a result, all rights of occupancy granted over lands within the BAP 4 Layout have been revoked, citing breaches of the grant terms and the overriding public interest.
