 Tue, Dec 10, 2024 PICTORIAL @ THE 2nd PROF ABDULLAHI MAHADI ANNUAL MEMORIAL LECTURE: Gombe State University (GSU) under the Acting  Vice Chancellor Prof Sani Ahmed Yauta holds 2rd Professor Abdullahi Mahadi Memorial lecture.  The lecture titled " Leadership Values for Nigeria's Transformation" was delivered by a distinguished scholar Professor Toyin Falola, from the University of Texas USA.   NG-CARES: Gombe SSG distributes items to over 40 beneficiaries  .....Hails NG- CARES, Governor Inuwa Yahaya for bringing relief to the down trodden. In an attempt to boost the economic status of the people, the Secretary to the Gombe State Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi has on behalf of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya CON, distributed business oriented items to over forty beneficiaries in Kaltungo Local Government Area. Professor Njodi had while distributing the items on Sunday enjoined the beneficiaries to make maximum use of the material noting that when properly utilized it will bring relief and minimize poverty in their individual lives and that of their families.   Gombe SSG harps on effective Local Government system to address poverty, insecurity. The Secretary to the Gombe State Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi says social challenges such as poverty and insecurity can be minimize if Local Government Areas in the Country are empowered to carry out their constitutional responsibility. The SSG stated this while delivering a keynote address at the 2rd North East Local Government conference with the theme "Strengthening Grassroot Governance for Sustainable Development in North Eastern Nigeria" held at the flourish hotel Gombe, Wednesday. Governor Yahaya's giant stride @ LG level, an administrative masterstroke says Gombe SSG. The last may not have been heard of position of the Secretary to the Gombe State Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi when he lead some  Government officials on an inspection visit to some projects sites in Shongom, Kaltungo Akko and Gombe Local Government Areas. The projects in these Local Government Areas are currently been executed by the Gombe State Government in conjunction with the Local Councils under supervision and coordination of the office of the Director General Joint Project of the State. While Shongom Kaltungo Akko LGAs are having their dilapidated Local Government Secretariat remodelled, Gombe is reconstructing its shopping mall in Idi quarters gutted by fire some 7 years ago.
