GOMBE STATE GOVERNMENT LOUD NEDC/JICA FOR DONATING PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEM TO 11 LGs

5th December, 2025 Gombe Govt Loud NEDC/ JICA for Donating Public Address system to 11 LGs. Gombe State Government has lauded the contributions of the North East Development Commission NEDC for its support to community development in the state. The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi made the commendation Tuesday while receiving Public Address system Equipment from the Commission meant for the 11 Local Government information units. The SSG noted that the North East Development Commission has since inception supported the State in its community development initiatives especially in areas of integration, peace building and improvement of livelihood of the people. He assured the Commission that the Public Address systems provided to the Local Governments will be judiciously used to communicate development policies and programmes of the government. Presenting the Communication equipment to the SSG for onward presentation to the eleven Local Government areas of the state, the Head of Branch Operations of the Commission Barrister Aishatu Mohammed Hassan said the donation is part of the Commission's effort in deepening public communication at grassroot level. Barrister Aishatu Hassan also disclosed that the equipments is jointly donated by Japanese International Corporation Agency JICA in collaboration the Commission following series of training workshops with Community Development agencies at local levels. She added that Communication as an essential ingredient of government and community interface requires modern communication facilities such as the ones being presented to achieve set goals. In their respective remarks, the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development Abdulkadir Malle and Representative of State ALGON the Chairman of Akko Local Government appreciated the leadership of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya which has continued to attract patronage of development partners nationally and internationally. The Secretary to the Gombe State Government (SSG) Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi has been awarded the best performing Chief scribe in the country by the National Leadership Awards for the year 2024.  Three Commissioners from the State were equally awarded best performing commissioners in their respective line of duty. The commissioners include; Dr. Engr Usman Maijama'a Kallamu of the Works, Housing and Transport ministry, the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice Barr Z. M. Umar and Adamu Ibrahim Pantami of the Ministry of Youth and Sports  Development.
