Governor Inuwa Yahaya Participates at Closing Session of 2nd Gombe Security Summit 

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has participated in the closing session of the second edition of the Gombe State Security Summit which held between Wednesday and Thursday at the International Conference Center (ICC), Gombe. 

The summit brought together representatives of security agencies in the state, as well as the GOC of the 3rd Division of the Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. Folusho Oyinlola, top government officials, civil society groups, traditional and community leaders, and experts from various security-related fields. 

Recall that on the first day of the summit, Governor Inuwa Yahaya donated and unveiled 50 operational vehicles to security agencies to

bolster their capacity to combat crime, ensure peace, and maintain stability across the state. 

Papers presented at the day-2 included: ‘Understanding the Security Landscape in Gombe State: Opportunities and Challenges,’ which was separately presented by the Gombe State representatives of the NPF, DSS, NSCDC, and the Army; and ‘Traditional Institutions and Conflict Resolution in Gombe State and Northern Nigeria,’ presented by the Attorney General of Gombe State and Commissioner of Justice, Barr. Zubair Muhammed Umar.

Other papers include: ‘Climate Change and Its Impact on Security in the Northeast,’ presented by Prof. Abubakar Mungono of UNIMAID’s Center for Disaster Risk Management, and ‘Media’s Role in Security Awareness and Community Engagement,’ presented by Aliyu Dahiru Aliyu of HumAngle Media.

Also presented were papers on ‘Drug Abuse, Mental Health, and Violent Behavior: Breaking the Cycle in Gombe’ and ‘From Pulpit to Peacebuilding: The Evolving Role of Religious Leaders in Gombe’s Security Architecture,’ by Thankgod Ocheho, Ibrahim Yusuf Gombe, Rev. Joseph Shinga, and Prof. Abdulganiyu Abdulrasheed, respectively.

A communiqué outlining the summit's position was read at the end of the event by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi.

Gwamnan Jihar Gombe, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, ya halarta a zaman rufe zagaye na biyu na taron tsaro na Jihar Gombe, wanda aka gudanar daga ranar Laraba zuwa Alhamis a Cibiyar Taro ta Kasa da Kasa (ICC), Gombe.

Taron ya haɗa wakilai daga hukumomin tsaro na jihar, tare da Babban Kwamandan Rundunar Sojojin Najeriya ta Sashen 3, Manjo Janar Folusho Oyinlola, manyan jami’an gwamnati, kungiyoyin farar hula, sarakunan gargajiya, shugabannin al’umma, da kwararru a fannoni daban-daban na tsaro.

A tuna cewa a ranar farko ta taron, Gwamna Inuwa Yahaya ya bada gudunmuwar motoci guda 50 ga hukumomin tsaro tare da kaddamar da su, domin ƙarfafa ƙarfin su wajen yaki da laifuka, tabbatar da zaman lafiya, da kuma kiyaye tsaro a fadin jihar.

A rana ta biyu, an gabatar da takardu masu muhimmanci, ciki har da: "Fahimtar Yanayin Tsaro a Jihar Gombe: Damar da Kalubale," wanda wakilan ‘yan sanda (NPF), DSS, NSCDC, da Rundunar Soji suka gabatar daban-daban. Haka kuma, "Gudunmawar Masarautu da Warware Rikice-Rikice a Jihar Gombe da Arewa," wanda Babban Lauyan Jihar Gombe kuma Kwamishinan Shari’a, Barista Zubair Muhammed Umar, ya gabatar.

Sauran takardu sun haɗa da: "Sauyin Yanayi da Tasirinsa ga Tsaro a Arewa Maso Gabas," wanda Farfesa Abubakar Mungono na Cibiyar Gudanar da Bala'o’i ta Jami’ar Maiduguri (UNIMAID) ya gabatar, da "Rawar da Kafofin Watsa Labarai ke Takawa Wajen Wayar da Kan Jama’a da Haɗa Al’umma da Tsaro," wanda Aliyu Dahiru Aliyu na HumAngle Media ya gabatar.

An kuma gabatar da takardu kan "Shan Miyagun Kwayoyi, Lafiyar Hankali, da Hali Mai Tsanani: Yadda Ake Katse Wannan Sila a Gombe," da kuma "Daga Mimbar zuwa Gina Zaman Lafiya: Sauyin Rawar da Shugabannin Addini Ke Takawa a Tsarin Tsaron Gombe," wanda Thankgod Ocheho, Ibrahim Yusuf Gombe, Rev. Joseph Shinga, da Farfesa Abdulganiyu Abdulrasheed suka gabatar.

A ƙarshen taron, Sakatare na Gwamnatin Jihar Gombe (SSG), Farfesa Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, ya karanta takaitaccen bayani kan matsayar da aka cimma a taron.
